Re: NU lands three transfers/ Scheduling news

Thanks for the updates ! I like the schedule consisting of more traditional eastern programs (ECAC) with a higher chance of success. Lammers has to start moving up in the league standings for long-term survival purposes. Money games are obviously important for AHA programs, but at some point being s...

Re: Canisius transfer-idiotcy examplified

“GWU drops Colonials “ When will all of this idiocy and insanity end. I guess I have to change my first name( David ) since it denotes King David a slayer and he was certainly a racist. .. I forgot , there were no colonies in the our country before independence was declared in 1776. Erase it all , i...

Re: AHA Faces Moment of Truth To Expand, Split, Or None of the Above: The Hockey World Awaits

A lot of moving parts with many different scenarios. It appears Utica is not a slam dunk for AHA admission. Now, Saint Anselm's is considering elevating to D1 but they are insistent upon league affiliation to guarantee home games. At the same time, there's a five-team contingent in the East, made up...

Re: Rider University slashes programs, cuts staff

I feel very sorry for the faculty. Can you imagine waking up one morning and having to live in the real world Very funny! With Rider’s noted financial difficulties, maybe the MAAC should make a serious pitch to Merrimack for membership. If further cuts are needed, my guess sports would be next on t...

Rider University slashes programs, cuts staff

Wow, I was not aware of the financial issues at Rider. Could they be the next U Hartford with regards to downgrading to D3 ?

Re: AHA Faces Moment of Truth To Expand, Split, Or None of the Above: The Hockey World Awaits

Like other things in life it all comes down to money. Mick, I totally get the money angle with regards to geographical complications and limited travel budgets for smaller schools. However, most of the schools in NCHA and ECAC have very deep pockets and could easily afford one weekend flight. Ditto...

Re: NU vs. Maryland & St.John's Basketball

I always forget that since I was only a soph in HS at the time and only knew of NU because of Murphy being from Norwalk, CT. Plus, two of my cousins were alums.

Pretty damn impressive advancing to the NIT Finals when the Tourney was on "par" with the NCAA's.

1972 NIT. Did NU lose to UM in the quarters or semi’s?
