Re: Division II foe D’You-ville at NU Today: 3 PM ESPN+

I think Obioha will crack the starting lineup by seasons end. Not just this game but in all games he has been in he has been averaging a rebound every 2 minutes. He fouls a little too much so that is what they are teaching him to handle better. His shooting is very decent at 44% and he is 4 of 5 in ...

Re: NU receives "9" votes in Top 20 Poll/ RIT @ #20 !

This series is crucial for PWR. Although Niagara is getting votes and would be at #24 in the poll, they are at #29 in the all-important PWR for tournament purposes. Very impressive showing against the USNTDP which has done well against most other college teams. The only drawback I see to that game w...

Re: MBB AT BUCKNELL SATURDAY NOV 12 AT 4PM

Bucknell is headed to St Peters Tuesday night (15th). Let's see how well a newly revised SPU plays against them. If SPU can keep it much closer than the 68-50 NU score then there will be reason to be concerned.

Re: NU Sweeps Bentley

The team has much more depth than the teams over the past several years. They have 3 lines which can score compared to at most 2 and probably just one reliable line before. That being the case they control the puck more of the time now. I wouldn't read too much into the sweep of Bentley as Bentley h...

Re: NU defeats D2 Roberts Wesleyan

I wouldn't make too much of an exhibition game. Losing it would be another story. Oftentimes coaches try out all different kinds of things like asking players to attempt threes just to see if they have it. If they don't then they take that off the table. Lineup variations are tried as well. You can ...

Re: NU at MHurst- Game 2.

USNTDP? Is that an eye exam? Think it's some US Devo team! The USNTDP (United States National Team Development Program) plays a schedule of mostly US Division 1 Colleges, USHL and the national teams of the top hockey programs of the world. In fact, they play Czechia, Finland, Switzerland and Sweden...

Re: NU Earns Extra Point In Shootout Win Over Mercyhurst

Those standings are very deceptive. Only 3 teams in the league have more than 1 loss. Niagara, Holy Cross and Army all have 3 losses. By the time most other programs play as many games as Niagara they will be ahead of NU's 5 points.

Re: NU Earns Extra Point In Shootout Win Over Mercyhurst

Just when you think they were settling in to be a top 4 team in the league the roof caved in. Both AIC and Sacred Heart are proving to be the cream of the crop in the league and the performances against them were tight albeit not close due to empty net goals. Then after a great start 4-0 with only 4...

Re: SHU at NU: Saturday at 5.30

More often than not pulling the goalie ends up in an empty net goal. It makes sense to do so when down 1 goal in the final 2 minutes because it gives you a chance to tie the game up. Being down 2 goals is basically a lost cause because the odds against doing it twice are significantly multiplied. Th...
