Re: BIG EAST WELCOMES TWO COACHES

JHart- I didn't know there was another Cluess brother still living. I remember Hank and Greg, as I attended St. Mary's and the Cluess name was "poison" to us. The Gaels could never beat St. Agnes for as long as I could remember. Ed Molloy, Crotty, Frank Alagia and others were just a bit be...

Re: WILLIS REED PASSES AT 80

le- great recollection. Does anyone/everyone know that Cowens married NU nursing graduate Deb Cymaylo of Verona NY? She was in the class of '71. They met when he was in the hospital getting treated for an injury. Cowens had a great lefty jumper but took no prisoners inside and mixed it up with any a...

Re: WILLIS REED PASSES AT 80

Great story Mickey- Bradley wasn't exactly thought of as funny, as fans recall. I remember Clyde making fun of Bradley's clothing. He was super square and Clyde projected "cool" with his clothing and Rolls. Interesting how there were no assistant coaches back then and now, there are three ...

Re: WILLIS REED PASSES AT 80

Those mid-60s Knicks teams were knocking on the door but the trades and drafts for #10, 19, 22 and 24 paved the way for that champion season. They played the way the game is supposed to be played, at the most pure level. Willis held his own against all comers, in a time when centers were strong and ...

Re: DISCUSSION TOPIC : THE TRANSFER PORTAL

GPA should be a factor and a limit on schools is also a good idea. Several of the players in the NCAA tourney have played at 3-4 schools. If a student/athlete wants to leave one school for another, then they should do their research and not be *surprised* by circumstances in evidence at the "ne...

Re: BIG EAST WELCOMES TWO COACHES

Interesting list of candidates and there are probably more out there worth considering. I would think the FDU coach would have some interesting prospective offers. Kind of surprised Cooley left Providence. I don't see it as a big step up, considering they are in the same conference and G'Town has no...

Re: BASEBALL OFF TO GOOD START

Impressive performance. The weather/temperature won't be ideal in NJ, but good prep for home games. Wondering how many times the team had to play ball with snow flurries coming down.

Re: NU and "The Portal" / Brown & Kiner

Thanks "Truthful". Seems to be a missed opportunity when the Niagara Peninsula is so close and Toronto is 90 minutes away on the QEW. There have to be some players who want to have family see them play at a D1 school without an overnight road trip. Scouting trips also fit that description....

Re: NU and "The Portal" / Brown & Kiner

Might be a good idea to stay away from point guards under 6 feet. The ones usually signed aren't productive and give up size. There are some very good ones playing in the NCAA tourney, but the MAAC has no shot at them usually. I've heard names in the tournament that are players from NY State. Did we...

Re: Note to Forum members

Thanks LE....i did watch a game or two that was broadcast on ESPN at no cost. I'll look at next season's team and see about subscribing. This season, I watched somewhere around 100 games or parts of games on the networks. After all that, I still can't predict the outcome of the tournament. Everyone ...
