Loved basketball back in the 70s. Unfortunately the 76ers in the early 70s was pretty bad. In fact, the 72 team set a record for the worst record ever in the NBA. I was familiar with the center a NU grad, Manny Leaks. Manny initially signed with the ABA before joining the NBA for a few years.

St Francis College in Brooklyn just announced the elimination of all Division One sports.

I remember when NU recruited one of the first Canadian players in 1972 or 73. He reportedly was a great shooter. His name was Rautins. He never really blossomed at NU but his brother became a big star at Cuse.

This actually looks like a great start for NU baseball considering that they normally start losing 75%+/- of their beginning, out of conference games.
Heck, I think February was warmer than this start of March up here in the NE. NU baseball needs a domed stadium.
