Re: Niagara's 1970 Team by Mike Samuels

Class of 71 so I was there. Had 2 classes with Murph who was always friendly. Drove to both the Princeton regional game and the Sweet 16 Regional in Columbia SC in a small caravan. Also saw the long awaited victory against Bona in 1971. That was huge since NU never beat Bona in over 10+/- years. Tho...

Re: Question—NU app on IPad

iPhone has no problems. IPad probably 6-7 years old. Every other app is fine. The good news is that I have an Apple store 15 minutes away for a trip next week. Thanks

Question—NU app on IPad

In the last week, I am getting a message that the NU Purple Eagles app needs to be updated to work with my IPad version IOS . When I try to upload a new Purple Eagles app from the IPad, I get the same message indicating the current version is 17 years old. No problem with the iPhone or main computer...

Re: Niagara's 1970 Team by Mike Samuels

Church, you were an unsung star on that team always doing the hard work underneath. Undersized in height, but big on heart. Always willing to say hi to this little basketball junkie a year behind you. You guys made everyone at NU feel big time. Glad that Coach Paulus has asked many former players to...

Re: JAM update / NU Update

As part of the Alumni weekend this year, Alums were invited to register play golf on Friday at the new course up in Lewiston. I am not sure how many participated with an early arrival.

Hubie

Watching the 76ers vs Hawks NBA payoff game. Truly amazing that Hubie Brown still seems to be the best announcer for a basketball game. Niagara sure had a group of guys with long basketball careers in various roles from the 50s classes.

Re: RMU drops hockey in a stunner ! / AHA to consider expansion in June

The cost of maintaining or improving a facility only affects smaller private schools. The State schools just spend whatever they want. UConn just announced the start of construction on their new on-campus arena with a cost of $25 mIllion. Similar to basketball, the monied schools will eventually dom...

Re: Most of Roster Returning

This will be interesting coaching dilemma. How does one keep all the senior returnees happy along with the young guys?

Re: MAAC Baseball Tournament

The Buff News just high lighted 11 baseball high school players to watch. The good news is that 2 of the 11 are headed to Niagara. The team definitely needs some pitchers.

Re: MAAC Baseball Tournament

Niagara had 13 seniors or graduate students on the roster because of the Covid year extension last year. Things do not always work out as planned, but they were hoping for more with that experience.
