Re: KRAKEN DRAFT TONIGHT

The difference is professional leagues function as a controlled well capitalized single unit while each college functions independent of each other. The Big Ten didn’t decide to add a sixth hockey team, Penn State decided to become one. If Illinois decides to field a hockey team they will have seven...

Re: KRAKEN DRAFT TONIGHT

The problem with growing college hockey is akin to the methodology of building a franchised system, or should I say the failure of growing college hockey. Successful franchise systems are developed regionally first and then expanded region by region in a collaborative plan. Scaddering teams all over...

Re: AHA Contracting

I don’t think it is unreasonable to wait a year or two to see how LIU performs both on and off the rink. The program didn’t exist 12 months ago. They have one semi Covid impacted spectatorless season behind them.

Re: St Vincent’s Hall to be renamed.

I’ve known Jimmy for about 50 years, a great guy and supporter on the University. He and his wife have given multiple million dollar gifts to the school and are well deserved of the honor of having something of significance named after them. I wonder why they did not name the unnamed Academic Center...

Re: B-Ball opens at Xavier Nov 9

We actually had this Xavier and Ohio State road trip lined up for 2020. As was a tournament at Youngstown State. What ever happened to us playing in a tournament in the UAE in ‘21 or ‘22?

Re: NU will break ground next month on an $11.5 million upgrade to the Kiernan Recreation Center

Actually le if they had a better architect they could have had a four sided rink for about half of $12 million, maybe even less. Instead of building the vomitorium (the area behind the seats) under the clear span of the roof they built a separate concourse between the aux. rink and the main rink the...

Re: NU will break ground next month on an $11.5 million upgrade to the Kiernan Recreation Center

I thought I read somewhere an additional gym was also part of the plan. They earmarked $2 million in the last campaign for Kieran and had trouble raising it at the time. It’s good to see the university has the contributions lined up for this project.
