2020-21 Hockey Schedule
At least for now, it looks like Niagara is going to North Dakota for one of their out-of-conference weekends. We'll see what happens if budget concerns become an issue. Great article here about what could happen across college hockey. Holy Cross has canceled their weekend trip to Arizona State for t...

Re: Hockey Recruiting
As for why they don't have as many guys committed in the future: I would guess it's because most of the team is young. They only lost five players to graduation this season with Sokay and Delmas being the biggest losses. I would expect to see a lot more guys added to the 21-22 list eventually since ...

Re: Hockey Recruiting
Heisenberg's list is a good resource but I usually go to Elite prospects and look ahead to their projected Niagara roster for 2020-21 and 21-22 to see all the prospects.

Re: Sacred Heart to build 4,000 seat hockey arena by 2022
And, investing that much in a new arena, not go all the way and bring two hockey programs which had a pretty successful decade back to campus.efkay2u wrote:I still wonder how RoMo can afford a new arena that costs more than it's entire endowment. Any answers?

Re: Sacred Heart to build 4,000 seat hockey arena by 2022
SHU is perennially at the bottom of college hockey attendance - maybe 200 a game? Looked like they drew a better crowd to win a title at CT Ice tourney. But I think best case for them the first few years is 50% capacity. Heck RIT has a rabid local fan base and they can rarely sell out Polisseni. All...

Interesting NU Hockey Reference in The Athletic
I was reading this article about former Sabre Dale Hawerchuk and wasn't expecting to find an NU hockey reference in there, but here we are: https://theathletic.com/1338445/2019/11/01/as-dale-hawerchuk-battles-cancer-andrew-mangiapane-reflects-on-his-special-bond-with-the-hockey-legend/ For those tha...

Re: SACRED HEART VS NIAGARA , THE SEQUEL
Yes I feel like schools worse than us have done much better out-of conference. AIC and Mercyhurst won at Penn State last year. Holy Cross beat Providence and nearly beat Northeastern this year. Heck last season, last-place CC swept NoDak despite being massively outshot both games. The bar is much hi...

Re: SACRED HEART VS NIAGARA , THE SEQUEL
Coming off their first conference championship appearance since moving to AHA. Stud team that brings back pretty much everyone from last year. Vast arena improvements. And they get outscored 7-1 in two home-opening losses where the total attendance is 500 less than capacity? So much for carrying the...

Re: OPENING NIGHT SAC HEART VS NIAGARA
McIlmurray with 2 goals for SHU, he always seems to be a thorn in NU's side like Ruslan. Going through SHU's roster because I did not expect them to handle NU that easily: their team is loaded with guys from the top two junior leagues, USHL and BCHL. Their top center Jason Cotton is a grad transfer ...
