OMG. That was outstanding.
Should be regularly shown to the admin and AD staff - to show what once was - and possibly could be again.

Church, you were an unsung star on that team always doing the hard work underneath. Undersized in height, but big on heart. Always willing to say hi to this little basketball junkie a year behind you. You guys made everyone at NU feel big time. Glad that Coach Paulus has asked many former players to reconnect with NU.

So undersized at every position, heart was the strength of that team. Nicely put together. Would like to know what those gentlemen did after 1970. Did not know that Wayne Jones had passed. I recall asking him to play on my intramural softball team to add to our athleticism. "Mo", a bench player did play with us. Wayne declined. I was heartbroken, but he probably had better things to do with his time.....study...women.... Study women.....ah, youth.

Saw a YouTube today a a high schooler who they said was Calvin's grandson.
I had the honor to MC an NU dinner at Harry's at Hanover Sq in '93 to honor Murph prior to induction the following week.
I was intelligent enough to ask Terry O'Connor, a close friend to do his introduction.
We had over 150 in attendance.
Seems like yesterday....All my troubles seem to go away!!!
What a treat our late 60's students had!

Yeah good stuff.

The 1970 team really splashed in the media circles all over the Northeast. I was only a young kid in the early 70's, but I vividly recall hearing and reading about NU Basketball during this time frame in New England. It helped that Murph was from Norwalk CT.

Just a quick question, how many of you were actually at Niagara when Murph played ? Just curious ....
