Looks like MIH has added a grad transfer Kevin Cook from Merrimack College. He is a local kid from Lancaster.

Jason is doing something that Burky didn't, he is going out for local talent. I cannot count how many times after talking to hockey parents around town about that Niagara that I was told their son wanted to play for Niagara and was ignored by Burky. This includes one of the AHA's top goaies over the last few years.

A couple of new transfer in Walker Sommer from Air Force and Croix Evingson from UMass Lowell - Evingson was a 7th round pick of Winnipeg's in 2017. Is he the first NHL-drafted player NU has on their roster?

NU also picked up Ryan Cook a Merrimack transfer with good size on D.
NU also signed another recruit from Sweden (Persson) who played in the NAHL.
NU did have a player drafted by an NHL team years ago. He left after 1 semester for a major OHL team.
NU has a ton of players returning this season. It's going to be difficult to get ice time for some of these newly signed recruits. A very nice problem to have with intense competition for ice time. I counted "23" returning players... All 3 xfers have to sit a season.

Evingson may be a steal. He is huge at 6'5'' 225lbs. Supposedly was given the chance at UML on the PP but was not the type player Bazin wanted. However Bazin wanted him to stay and would likely have seen more playing time. Sounds like he may have to sit one year before his remaining 2 years. From the Lowell Sun back in May:

LOWELL — Sophomore defenseman Croix Evingson has decided to transfer from UMass Lowell.
Evingson recently notified head coach Norm Bazin of his decision. The native of Anchorage, Alaska, only played in 16 of UML’s 38 games this past season.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Evingson saw action in 16 games as a freshman. He finishes his UML career with one goal and seven assists.
Bazin said he was “a little bit” surprised by Evingson’s decision, especially following the news that star defenseman Mattias Goransson would forego his senior season to play pro hockey in his native Sweden.
“He said he needs more ice time. I thought there was a wonderful opportunity for more ice time here,” Bazin said Monday. “You’re not going to keep everyone happy. It’s a competitive environment. I wish him the best.”
UML is set to graduate five seniors — Connor Wilson, Ryan Dmowski, Christoffer Hernberg, Avni Berisha and Nick Master. Two others — Goransson and Ryan Lohin — left UML after their junior seasons to turn professional.
Evingson and forward Cole Paskus have elected to transfer. Evingson arrived in Lowell with high expectations. During his last year of junior,
he scored 52 points in 59 games for Shreveport of the North American Hockey League. He was a seventh-round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in the 2017 NHL Draft.
Bazin said UML’s incoming freshman class will consist of eight or nine players.

Yeah I agree. This kid does sound like a steal. Kudos to the coaching staff for signing a player with possible NHL talent.He was a seventh-round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in the 2017 NHL Draft.
