Re: Hockey Recruiting
Interesting to note that 2022 incoming hockey player David Posma is the younger brother of Mike Posma who joined Boston College this year. Mike, the BC freshman, scored 13 goals and 13 assists for his USHL team in 36 games last year and projects to be a bottom 6 forward for BC this year. David is a defenseman who moved up to the USHL this year from the NAHL last year with a +9 +/- stat. The brothers are from Pomona, NY.

Re: Hockey Recruiting
Another impressive recruit, Jack Richard, from Hamilton, Ontario. Played for Burlington of the OJHL. 6'4" 185 lb Forward Leading goal scorer with 35 and 3rd in scoring on his first place division team. Went from 19 to 61 points in 1 year.
Re: Hockey Recruiting
Hope he puts on at least 15 lbs this summer.

“Another impressive recruit, Jack Richard, from Hamilton”
Gotta like his scoring ability scoring 35 goals along with 61 points. A little thin but obviously he has offensive skills.

Re: Hockey Recruiting
I kinda of forgot about him. I didn’t realize he was such a prized recruit. He seems like a late bloomer of sorts who was a bit under the radar screen.

Re: Hockey Recruiting
An update on recruit Jack Richard. I just hope he is still coming to Niagara as Chris Heisenberg's site does not list him under Niagara anymore. However, he had been listed as a 2022 recruit before and the updated list is for 2023 recruits only.
December 7, 2022, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Burlington Cougars captain Jack Richard (Photo by Michelle Malvaso / OJHL Images) has been named the Warrior North-West Conference Player-of-the-Month for November after he tallied 16 points during nine games.
His nine goals included two on the power play and a game-winner. Richard’s biggest game of the month was a four-pointer (2G/2A) in a 7-4 win over Stouffville Nov. 8.
Committed to NCAA Division 1 Niagara University for next fall, Richard is tied for the team lead in points (44) with Thomas Lenart. Richard’s 27 goals include six game-winners for the Cougars, who are in second place in the OJHL’s North-West Conference.
The 6-foot-4 forward from Stoney Creek is in his fourth year in Burlington, following a 24-point season with the Hamilton Bulldogs U18 team.
Richard, who turns 20 on Dec. 13, had 61 (35G/26A) points in 46 games during the regular season last year.
Also of note is the recent commitment of LW Rainers Darzins from Sweden. His name sounds Latvian to me which could be a sign he knows Glebs Prohorenkovs currently on Niagara. Just a guess on my part.

Re: Hockey Recruiting
Based on the quote , it appears Richard is still committed to NU for 2023. Interesting to see the Latvian connection as the frosh as played well for Niagara.

Re: Hockey Recruiting
Rainers Darzins is from Latvia. He has been playing on the World Juniors Latvian team which has failed to win any games but has been highly competetive. Although he has not scored he has a +/- of 0 which is second highest on their defensive minded team. Glebs Prohorenkovs played on the same team as Darzins did in Latvia so they likely not only know each other but likely played together. Getting a World Juniors player is a big step up for Niagara in recruiting. This is a very good pick up.
