Bona has won something like 32 of their last 35 games on their homecourt in Olean. Didn’t we have a similar streak a few years back during the JAM era?

Go figure, this league is nuts. Slumping Iona reeled off a W over Qpac on the road. A very hot SPU team was shredded by Marist at the McCann Center... Only one game separates six teams in the league standings. NU is in 7th, two games back. Parity !

LAST NIGHT

Rider 61, Canisius 60 -Vaughn 18 -Johnson 17
Siena 65, Fairfield 49 -Burns 21 -Methnani 12
Manhattan 77, Niagara 59 -Paulicap 20 -Kuakumensah 13
Marist 72, Saint Peter's 61 Jones 18 -Drame 15-
Iona 73, Quinnipiac 52- Crawford 18- Balanc 14

FYISt Bonaventure takes on Duquesne this afternoon on NBCSN at 3 p.m. (another National Telecast for the Big Four) The game will be played at Robert Morris in their new arena as The Duke's home court is being remodeled. Bona's great Coach Mike Schmidt returns to RoMo where he coached prior to SBU.

Saint Pete’s trounced Monmouth on the road today. Rider now has won 5 of their last 6 games. Arguably, these two teams are the best programs in the MAAC as of today.

The competitive mid-major even Jeff Van Gundy loves
By Mike Vaccaro February 9, 2020

"He was easy to find in those lockout-strangled days during the 1998-99 NBA season. Jeff Van Gundy was a coach without a team and he was an eternal gym rat, so if you wanted to find the then-Knicks coach, you started by seeing which MAAC team was playing at home that night.

Often as not, there he was, at Manhattan’s Draddy Gymnasium, or Iona’s Mulcahy Center, unshaven, wearing a ball cap and sweats, inconspicuous, just needing his basketball fix. I found him one night in Poughkeepsie, at the McCann Center on the Marist campus...

Attendance seems down in the MAAC this year, but not at Siena.

TU:

“MAAC rank for the Saints in home attendance : Average attendance this season for Siena is 6,040, while the next-best mark of 1,974 belongs to Monmouth.”

In a move that many were hoping for when NU hired Patrick with his dad at Michigan, Monmouth host UNC next year. It is a two for one series.
