USCHO: "Niagara making late season run"

Postby jhart » Fri Feb 14, 2020 9:23 pm

Have had good dialogue with coach following last weekend's contests.
Our men are ready to go!
Again, the games are at 1pm each day.
My last message to coach " Kick Ass" !

Yeah. Kick some ass! Like the aggressive attitude.
Jim. Someone mentioned that one of the major recruiting sites only lists two recruiting targets for NU. This can’t be right ? Maybe JL can offer some insight. Heisenberg was the site.

Scouting the Pioneers:

After taking a big step towards earning a home playoff series, the Niagara men's hockey team travels to Sacred Heart for a pair of games against the conference's second-place squad.

Sacred Heart was defeated by AIC on Tuesday night by a 6-2 score. Both teams came into the contest tied for the league lead with 46 points. The Pioneers are 2-2-1-0 in their last five conference games, but won the inaugural Connecticut Ice Tournament with victories over Yale and No. 17 Quinnipiac on January 25-26.

Sacred Heart boasts five of the top seven scorers in Atlantic Hockey this season.

They also rank 10th nationally in shots on goal per game (32.24).

Vektri was pulled from goal at 10:48 in the 2nd, replaced by Wilson who gave up two goals in 2 minutes. SHU 4 NU 0 . DOn'tknow what happened however Box score shows Veltri with 30:48 min in goal, meaning he would have been pulled at 10:48 in the 2nd. SHU scored at 10:49 in the 2nd and goal was credited against Wilson.

9:47 in the 3rd and SHU blowing away NU 6-0. Satas show at this point SHU outshooting NU 41 to 9. Guess SHU is in a different class than Mercyhurst.
