Not a big hockey fan, but seeing that one of the new coaches is from Canada, that can't hurt. The more contacts the better and both played in NY State, so they should know the back roads to Central and Northern NY.

In August Assistant coach Andy Boschetto moved over to be an Assistant coach with Colgate. Associate Head Coach Matt Nicholson was previously listed as entering his 4th season as a coach in a PurpleEagles.com profile which has since been taken down. No word on any move by him when searching. Curious if he too tried to get the Colgate position as he was a Colgate grad.

Very interesting in seeing which schools were involved. Hockey East by far had the most drafted(25) compared to Big Ten(15) NCHC(13) ECAC(10) and WCHA(1). Atlantic Hockey had none. Maine was the only Hockey East school without a draftee while Michigan State was the only Big Ten school out as well. In the NCHC Colorado College, Nebraska-Omaha and Western Michigan were left out too. Harvard was the clear big winner having 7 of the 10 ECAC picks with only Quinnipiac, Colgate and Clarkson getting 1 selection each. Getting 3 or more selections in the first 4 rounds were North Dakota and Michigan with 4 and Harvard, BU, BC and Minn-Duluth with 3 each. Other than Harvard the biggest surprise may have been Merrimack getting 2 first 4 round picks.

The AHA is still lagging behind even with full ships:
Atlantic Hockey had none (draft picks).

Not sure what happened to NICHS:

The Nicholson story is odd.
Can't find any information on him; my guess is there is much more to the story.

LEWISTON — Growing up in London, Ontario with a father who had been drafted by the Washington Capitals, Niagara assistant coach Matt Nicholson was immersed in the game of hockey from a young age.

And while Nicholson played the game, he also learned how to teach the game at a young age through helping his father, Paul Nicholson, with the hockey school he used to run in London.

“I always joke that I got a ‘Ph.D.’ in hockey without knowing it,” Nicholson said. “Just from my bloodlines and some of the people I was exposed to. I think that’s honestly where the passion and the fire really came from.”

Nicholson joined head coach Jason Lammers' staff two years ago and aims to take the knowledge he’s gained over the years and put it toward growing a successful hockey program at Niagara...

He left to "pursue other opportunities", per the NFG and people I talked with. Sounds similar to what Luke Dobrich did years ago taking a job in the corporate sector.

Niagara University hockey appointed a second new assistant coach on Monday, with head coach Jason Lammers filling in the coaching staff entering the 2020-21 season.

Lammers said Mark Phalonis’ latest addition Purple Eagles behind the bench, joining newly recruited John Lidgett in the coaching staff. Last year’s assistant coaches Andrew Boschetto and Matt Nicholson are no longer with the team. Boschetto left to take an assistant coaching position at Colgate University. According to a tweet from Mike McMahon, a reporter for College Hockey News, Nicholson quit to pursue other opportunities.
