The Utica bubble or even a long week at the Griffs Sabre’s faculty would work.

Mike:

Don't get to excited about the "TV Schedule" for NU Hockey. I believe the AHA is under contract with flohockey.tv for all league games. It's a PAY online streaming network, not ESPN+. Same as last season.

Interesting facts of the schedule:

Only weekends off are December 4/5 and Christmas weekend December 25/26 so once the schedule is underway it is basically straight through without the usual 3 or 4 week break.

Of the 4 other pod teams they play NU has the extra home games vs. Canisius and Robert Morris and the extra road games vs. RIT and Mercyhurst.

Air Force is a home weekend and LIU is the road weekend.

Out of Conference for the first time recently is split evenly with home and road games vs. St. Lawrence and Clarkson.

I never received a response from the AHC but this setup is very close to what I had sent to them a while back creating those same pods with Air Force as an outlier. I didn't count on LIU although I thought they would be an out of conference game for most. To create a balanced schedule I thought some teams would play 5 pod games while others would play AFA 3 times.

Not so certain it would happen next season but maybe a year later. I think there is some kind of rule in place about being in the division long enough to qualify for tournament play. Not sure but I believe their results this year may count in the standings as Air Force would be short 2 games without them. If so I can see them be a scheduling partner until they do become a league member. All depends on if anyone else leaves or if Navy finally steps up.

According to sources on USCHO and CollgeHockey.com, Navy was THIS close to announcing membership with the AHA and then the China virus struck. I would think with LIU's scheduling affiliation with the Atlantic League, along with short bus trips to Army, SHU, AIC, HC and Bentley, makes the Blackbirds a very attractive candidate for membership. Navy joining makes perfect sense with the two other service schools in the league.

I read about a month ago LIU games don't count in the AHA conference standings.
