Re: Hockey: Where do we go from here?

Post by NewEnglander »

The NCAA apparently had a provision that a back up could step in but only for the first 24 hours after selection. Notre Dame was already in Albany when they tested positive so with contact tracing and injuries they did not have enough players left to field a team. There should have been up to 2 teams that were told to remain ready, that is keep practicing and follow all Covid protocols. However that would be kind of bad for them to know they were the first teams out. Providence for example had their star sign a pro contract during the week and he therefore wouldn't have been eligible to play this weekend anyway.

Does anybody know if red shirted Billings is slated to return? I didn't see any transfers on the latest recruit per Heisenburg.

AIC is down 4-0 to the Fighting Sioux after two periods. AIC looks a tad smaller and slower compared to ND . Disappointing .

AIC did not play well against the Fighting Sioux losing 5-1. I'll quote Dave Starman from last night's ESPN3 broadcast, " AIC's skillset simply doesn't match up." ND has 12 NHL draft picks on their roster and were playing practically on home ice. This performance will not help shape the argument that the AHA is closing the gap. In year's past, NU, RIT and Air Force have all scored some big wins in the NCAAA's.

Today's games:

Don’t forget Holy Cross along with AIC’s Tournament win 2 years ago. AIC had a bad 10 minute stretch...played UND even the rest of the way.
