Former NU assistant likely next Fordham coach

Post by MICKEY »

Kyle Neptune NU assistant under JAM is expected to be introduced as Fordham’s head basketball coach tomorrow. After leaving Niagara he joined the staff of Villanova. A Brooklyn native his parents attended just about every NU game in the NYC area while he was on the staff. I had the pleasure of talking to them frequently...very nice people. Considering Fordham is my other alma mater I’m particularly happy he got the job. Now when will Akbar get a shot?

I had the pleasure of talking to Kyle a number of times. Great player for Lehigh. He continues a now long line of Villanova/Jay Wright assistants getting head coaching positions.

He is an assistant coach at Georgetown. There was a story he had a shot at the head Delaware State job a double of years ago but it didn’t happen.

I use to occasionally overnight Waheed game tapes when they were on an extended road trips when they were unable to watch a MAAC broadcast of their next opponent. He was a good guy, deserving of a shot at a HC job.
