I see on Verbal Commits that Paulus has his first verbal commitment from the class of 2023. Ahmad Henderson II from Brother Rice High school in Chicago. Great to see the very early activity and success.

Henderson was First team All City selection as a junior by the Chicago Sun Times.

Asst Coach Devitt is doing a great job in tapping into his Chicago ties . It's always nice to see recruits coming in from various parts of the country . The staff is doing a great job of securing talent early in the recruiting cycle . A far cry from when many recruits were signed in the summer months of an upcoming season .

Watching the short video, it looks like he fires his jumper pretty low. He can get away with this in HS but at D1, it won't work. He'll have to alter that release, IMO. That said, he must be talented to be rated a top player in the big city.

Too bad NU has very few videos of Murph in his days at Niagara. Talk about a perfect jump shot.
I never understood why so many players are not taught the perfect jump shot or for that matter the sky hook shot of Alcindor.

Philly, U guys have better memory of Murphy during his playing days than many of us who were in HS or younger. The old tape I've seen of him is that he had a very HIGH release. Even his free throws, correct ?

An important aspect was the straightness of his jump coupled with the high release. Two hands oerfectly balancing the ball. Seemed simple to imitate, but most kids avoid the basics with something off balance.

If you look at the elite shooters in the NBA past and present they all had perfect form . Ray Allen and Jerry West in particular come to mind with their flawless form ( straight up and high release ) .
