Canisius gets the benefit of this Manhattan visit to Western NY. While Niagara plays Manhattan on Friday, Canisius is off until they play Manhattan on Sunday afternoon. Not quite fair to Manhattan playing on the road twice within 42 hours against a well-rested team. That certainly gives a boost to Canisius over Niagara this weekend.

Yeah, seems like a screw job. NU has to finish in the TOP 5 of the league to avoid the MAAC PIG round...

Siena is the clear front runner in the MAAC after thumping Iona. 8,000 in attendance from the MVP. ..Rider and Fairfield are pulling things together entering the second half of the MAAC season. The top six is forming up in the league with SC, IC , QU, Fairfield, NU and Rider. One team will wind up in the PIG round.

The Hynes Center in New Rochelle is sold out today for the IC - QU game... QU has two very good scoring guards in Balanc and Devi Jones. I’m not sure about their big men though. QU is up early 12-2.

Iona down 17 at half comes back to win in New Rochelle. Manhattan beats Canisius and Rider beats Fairfield, both in OT. Siena beats Marist.

I watched the first half of the Iona-QU game and assumed
the game was over at the half. Fairfield losing helps Niagara’s plight to stay in the top 5 in the MAAC. Rider is making a serious move into second place winning 5 out of their last 6 games. One has to wonder if Reggie Witherspoon’s time is up at Canisius , slumping to the bottom of league with a 5-15 record.

Pretty impressive MAAC attendance numbers over the weekend: 8,000 at the MVP/Albany , 2,700 in New Rochelle, 2,500 at Fairfield and 1,800 at Marist.

The two teams scored 138 points, about the same as the number of people I saw in the stands on TV. Enser was at the game and was shown on TV, he looked older than Hart and I combined. Which is also more than the number of fans I saw in the stands.
