Very disappointing that the players don't feel any urgency and that the transfers haven't been more consistent. Few teams can play poorly for 1/2 of a game and still win. Without good shooters, NU is not one of them. The recent games aren't doing much for team confidence.

Welp, horrendous end to this season losing 5 of the last 6, with 4 of those being to the bottom 4 teams in the league.

In Paulus' 4 years as coach, Niagara has placed 6th, 5th, 5th, 5th in the Maac. We need to start seeing improvement

Very disappointing finish to the regular season to say the least. Despite all the negativity, the two different MAAC scenarios provide some sliver hope in matching up with Siena in the 4/5 game ( if Marist wins tonight ). Siena is slumping horribly with four or five poorly played contests in a row . I’d rather play Siena than Manhattan at this point.

From Jason Daly DDH:

“Canisius just closed out Niagara, so it comes down to Quinnipiac/Marist to determine the rest of the #MAACHoops bracket.

If QU wins: They’re the 3, Siena 4, Niagara 5, Manhattan 6.

If Marist wins: Siena 3, Niagara 4, Manhattan 5, Quinnipiac 6.

Huge stakes for the Bobcats.”

It seems like all season long GP has struggled to find a consistent rotation . From game to game you don't know what you're going to get with exception of Thomasson . As bleak and discouraging as things appear to be , the conference tournament is a whole new season . Over the years crazy things have happened in conference tournaments .

Absolutely crazy how one game that was considered over but confirmed tied by a buzzer beater has thrown a wrench into the final standings by as much as 3 places. The same can be said about one double OT game in the league as well. Goes to show how important each game meant. One more loss or win can cause a huge shift when the standings are close.

Still must wait on the Quinnipiac result as that could make it 6,5,5,4 which is improvement especially considering the massive changeovers in roster the last couple of years. I think Paulus is a great fit. If Hammond had stayed they would have challenged Iona I believe. The team has played some very poor first halves compared to second halves. Of course the coach is partly to blame but players not hitting shots is more on the players.

The game could have turned into a major fight at the end. Canisius had the game won and Long of Canishit dunked the ball with 1 second left. Before that Staveski of Canishit made an unnecessary shot with 11 seconds left. A few NU players were clearly upset. There is no love lost between the players for sure.
It will be interesting if they play in AC.

“Canshit “ is great !

QU is burying Marist by 20 with 8 mins remaining . Looks like NU-Siena in the 4-5 game in AC.

Those kind of things usually backfire on teams. Why give your opponent any more motive? Better yet hope Mt. St. Marys beats them in the preliminary round. Should they get past MSM they would have to play Iona so they should not have been so enthusiastic about winning anyway. I watched the end of the BC-Georgia Tech game where the Georgia Tech player had the ball all alone under the basket at the end and he just held it without moving until time expired. As you said it was classless what Canisius did.
