Philly: I don't understand the rapid decline of Marist Women's Hoops under HC Brian Georgis' leadership. For what seemed like a decade or longer, his squads dominated the MAAC and actually won a few games in NCAA's. Maybe someone can comment that has better insights on Women's Hoops and Marist Basketball.

I wonder if the downfall began with Quinnipiac’s entry into the MAAC, eating into their recruiting territory perhaps?

Just saw #1 seed, Iona, beat MSM 39-37.
Niagara women have 38 pts. at halftime. Two entirely different offensives for sure. Discipline vs. chaos. Not sure what this means if they meet.

Amazing for a team that can’t shoot 2s, can’t shoot 3s, and their FT at the end nearly bit them.

Great to see theWBB advance to the semi’s of the MAAC. Ditto to the Men’s Hockey team as well ! Maybe three is a charm with the MBB playing Siena in the quarter’s tomorrow at 9.45 pm.

Niagara Notes

Aaliyah finished with 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 steals. She is the first Purple Eagle in program history to notch a triple double. This season she had nine double doubles in the regular season and led the MAAC in scoring, steals, and was fourth in rebounding.
Angel had 17 points in the game while adding three rebounds and seven assists.

Aaliyah is still leading the MAAC in scoring with 17.0 points per game, she is third in rebounding and leads the conference with 3.8 steals per game.

Niagara's turnover margin is now 9.79 which leads the MAAC and the country.

Up Next

The Purple Eagles are on to the MAAC Semifinal for the second straight season. They will have Thursday off before taking on the winner of Quinnipiac and Manhattan on Friday at 1:30.
