500 last night at the HC. Yeah, it has to be a combination of season ticket holders , lack of interest in mid major sports in a metro area , and the HS Tourney during the weekend.

If this was a single elimination tourney like Hockey East, NU would have moved on to the Championship game with the win on Friday.

Holy Cross lost to RIT in OT so the series is tied at 1-1 as well. 2,650 in Rochester.

The poor attendance is not surprising given the poor marketing of the respective programs by both NU and CC . You can't be obscure all season long and then expect fan support come playoff time . It's too bad because the games are affordable and entertaining .

CC was drawing about 1,000 per game prior to the AHA playoffs, 1,200 for the NU game in February. NU's numbers went up as well late in the season .

The season ticket impact is accurate evidenced by the half full arenas at Northeastern and BU last night in the HE playoffs. BU's rink was packed during the regular season especially the last 4-6 weeks. Ditto BC in the PIG round as NE explained.

I totally agree, the AHA does a horrible job marketing the "brand" and AHA playoffs. Get your ass on TV (even ESPN Plus) for a few games, let's start with that man.

What I don't understand is the total news blackout by the Buff News and Gazette re coverage of NU Hockey. Not a peep !

Let's go NU and The Cross tonight !

Holy Cross beat RIT so the winner of this game hosts the Atlantic Hockey Championship game.
