Matt was brought in to pitch top of 9th v Astros and only recorded two outs via SOs while giving up the go-ahead two runs on 2 hits and 1 BB.
He took the loss as M's didn't score in bottom on inning.

Matt was brought in the 7th with a man on and one out Sunday.
He gave up a single, and got two SO's v top of Astros line up...no runs.

Bad Luck for Brash

Post by Truthful »

The Athletic had this interesting tidbit about Matt Brash :

" If you’re Matt Brash of the Seattle Mariners, you don’t have to imagine it. Brash has, by just about every metric, made marked improvements this year. But he’s still giving up runs. How?

Corey Brock has the full analysis, but the short answer is he’s been extremely unlucky, giving up a .519 BABIP (batting average on balls in play). League average is around .300.

So, what can Brash do to change his luck?
Scientifically speaking, nothing. Regression sands down outliers, and this is a weirdo outlier of the highest order."
