He’s a solid reliever. I wish the Mets had him coming out of the ‘pen.

At the All Star Game break, time to summarize Matt's second MLB season to date.
After last night's clean 8th inning, Matt brought his ERA down to 3.50.
He has appeared in 43 of 89 Mariners games pitching 36 innings.
With 62K's and 15 BB's, his K/BB ratio is a tidy 4:1.
BTW, he's allowed just one HR!
We have ourselves a true major leaguer!

What was encouraging about his last appearance is that in the inning he pitched he retired the side on 9 pitches , 7 of which were strikes . His command is getting better and better which is bad news for hitters .

After Sundays clean inning with two K's Matt's ERA is now 3.41.

Seattle has a great and deep bullpen . On a lot of teams Matt would be the closer .

Last night Brash pitched one inning gave up a hit and a walk and then struck out the side. His ERA is now 3.32.
