Hockey 2023-2024 First Non conference series announced
Fantastic. The Miami Redhawks come to town for two games on New Years weekend December 29(Friday) and 30(Saturday). Nice to see a reciprocal series for last season's games in Ohio.

They also go back out to Omaha again this year on Fri/Sat Oct 13/14. It's nice that they get these NCHC and at times B1G games but unlike Miami they are either all on the road or a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 deal.

Kudos to Lammers' securing games against NCHC programs although Miami has ben rumored moving over to the CCHA.

Too bad that weekend there will be no students on campus.

Perfect weekend to give tickets to local youth teams and get butts in the seats. They will buy concessions and merchandise.ClevelandEagle wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 6:02 pm Too bad that weekend there will be no students on campus.
I know at Bemidji State, the Bemidji Youth Hockey Association has a HUGE Pee Wee tournament in town, usually right around New Years. I am not sure if they give tickets to the teams or offer them at a STEEP discount, but it gets butts in the arena, and they make noise. And as any marketing guru knows youth hockey players, those players usually have cash to burn at games.

You’re right Millsy. Dozens of youth teams play at NU’s twin rink complex. One would think this would be an advantageous marketing plan when students are on vaca.
Hey, what’s up with Miami ? Are they seriously considering moving to the CCHA assuming Zona gets an invite from the NCHC?

I have not really heard much outside of the rumors that seem to pop up on the message boards.le wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 2:32 pm You’re right Millsy. Dozens of youth teams play at NU’s twin rink complex. One would think this would be an advantageous marketing plan when students are on vaca.
