5/1 is the traditional day high school senior have to deposit for the incoming freshman class. Let’s hope NU can hit 650 🙂🤨

The total numbers can be misleading particularly if a large portion of the incoming students tuition is heavily discounted . Given the current academic climate , I'm sure NU has no choice but to offer generous aid .

I’d love to see them exceed the number. I understand the deposits were running ahead of what was anticipated, however the deposit amount is apparently small enough that some prospects might make a deposit at multiple institutions to keep their options open. Does anyone know how much it is?

Thanks.....I thought it would be a lot more than that . Is the money refundable if a student chooses to enroll elsewhere ?

What a shift since our day. I remember applicants getting accepted at New England and NYS colleges, but being wait listed for on campus housing in the mid to late 70's. There was just so much intensive demand from the tail end of the Baby Boom Generation for housing. During my stint at Niagara, Deveaux campus was acquired to accommodate the overflow of female students. What a great time to be a male upperclassmen at Niagara !!! According to my wife's sister who graduated in 1975-76, several downtown hotels were contracted out to house NU students. I forgot the name of the hotels, maybe someone can jump in here.

During the sixties there were no women living on campus. Some stayed at the Hotel Niagara, others stayed at two building near the old Saint Marys Hospital which by then had relocated to Lewiston. I think they were restricted to nursing students. When Seton opened in '70 or '71 all women regardless of major were on campus.

Traditional Deposit Day has long passed since the pandemic and admin will be working hard for the next ninety days to secure admission commitments.
Our numbers look to exceed last year's freshman class.
