I don’t want to be dumb, but how many players are on a college bowling team? Are there scholarships involved? Are the bowlers allowed to drink beer during a match?

Honestly, I really thought I knew everything (joke) but man I never heard of a varsity bowling team being sponsored by a college or a university. Good question, can they drink beer between frames ?

Women's bowling in lieu of lax or hockey? Wrong direction ! Does anybody know if women's badminton is a sanctioned Division 1 sport ?

Ok, a little background to this story. Unlike many NCAA sports, only one National Collegiate championship is held each season with teams from Division I, Division II, and Division III competing together. So, this is a chance to compete locally with schools outside D1. They will be picking up players from Medaille as well as their coaching staff from that defunct school. Very easy transition. I assume they will compete in the East Coast Conference as an associate member. Also in that league is Daemen, D'Youville, Roberts Wesleyan from Rochester, and several NYC area schools among others. It appears that teams have about 10 players so not sure how this impacts Title IX. Does Niagara need the numbers to meet that or does this allow a future Men's sport to be added? There are many womens NCAA teams, perhaps 100 or so and Vanderbilt won the NCAA championship this year.

Add to those 34 D1 schools, the 41 in D2 and the 35 in D3 as all divisions compete together in this NCAA sport. 109 total without Medaille.

Besides the ECC, the Allegheny Mountain Conference is another option for local schools.

Did they serve beer between frames? Lite or IPA ?

I really thought I know everything (joke) except for the existence of D1 women's bowling.

What's next varsity pickleball ?
