Hollywood actor Gregory Peck's father played basketball for NU in the early 1900's. Gregory Peck Sr. was NU Basketball's first star and leading scorer (1905-1906).
Francis Meade who eventually became President of NU, was the grandson of General George Meade who commanded the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War at Gettysburg and beyond.
