I remember when NU was looking at conference after the old CHA folded and we took ourselves to cost containment AHA. I remember Burky wanted to go independent and get a schedule we could leverage into a better league. Well I guess that is Stonehill’s model. If you get a chance checkout their schedule

A very ambitious schedule assembled by Stonehill playing many major programs for the upcoming season . Unfortunately , their schedule for the first two and a half months of the season are pretty much road contests. It’s catch 22 for Indy’s such as Stonehill and LIU in that they have the flexibility of scheduling up , but the vast majority of the games are on the road. Scheduling nightmares , that is why Ed Mac overruled Burky and joined the AHC.
