Re: HOCKEY AT BENTLEY 4PM SATURDAY-GAME TWO
At 2-6-1, not the best start to the season in light of the large number of returning players for NU. Besides lack of offense , I would surmise inconsistent goaltending has been a factor as well. One can count blocked shots and faceoffs won all night , but if you can’t score consistently and keep the puck out of your own net - you lose !

Fiske comes on highly acclaimed from AIC as a seasoned vet. Why not run with him in goal and see what happens. He played well last night!

Re: Bentley sweeps Niagara/ Fiske plays well in goal!
I don't discount the importance of facilities , but until NU starts winning nothing will change . In the Lammers era , NU's overall record is 79-117-2 . At most schools that record gets you fired , at NU that gets you a contract extension . Look no further than Iona in basketball , they have one of the worst facilities in the MAAC , yet they dominate the conference year after year . Their facilities pale in comparison to Qpac & Fairfield , two mediocre programs that are light years away from Iona in terms of relevance . Bottom line ......there's no better avenue to increase interest and support than winning .
Another aspect to consider is the high percentage of NU students that are commuters along with a disproportionate ratio of female students to male students ....65% to 35% . In addition , the city of Niagara Falls is a war zone these days with one of the highest crime rates in the country . There is miniscule interest in NU sports among the locals as evidenced by the skimpy coverage in the local media . Sadly the outlook going forward is very challenging given the current conditions.
